DRIVER CAN HAVE UP TO 3 POINTS ON THEIR RECORD
Age:
21 Years of Age or Older
Citizenship (must be one of the following):
Applicants must be US citizens
Valid Permanent Residents with a current green card or work permit.
Disqualifying Factors:
Drivers termed from the last 2 CDL (Class A or B) driving jobs are not eligible
Drivers termed from previous employer for theft must have worked for major transportation company for 5 years with stable history. Terminated for Safety issues: applicants who were termed for safety reasons (accidents or unsatisfactory safety rating) must first complete 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience without a major preventable accident after termination.
Abandoned equipment or quitting under dispatch in an unapproved location 88 requires 1 year.
No PSP Critical Red Flag Violations in the last year:
- Operating a CMV with more than one driver’s license
- Operating a CMV without a CDL
- Driving a CMV while disqualified
- Driving a CMV while CDL is suspended for a safety-related or unknown reason either inside or outside the state of driver’s license issuance
- Operating a CMV with improper CDL group
- Unqualified Driver
- Driver lacking valid license for type of vehicle being operated
- Driver disqualified from operating a CMV
- Driver Operating an ‘out of service’ vehicle (OOS)
- Driver uses, or in possession of drugs
- Possession/use/under influence of alcohol less than 4 hours prior to duty.
Military Reference:
DD214 – A DD214 form is required to verify service in the military for the last 3 years to be eligible for 6-month contract and to verify work history in the Military. Must have a commanding officer reference, service verification memo, NGB22, drill orders or discharge certificate if DD214 is not available.
Dishonorable Discharge requires full, complete, statement from driver including an individual assessment.

DRIVING RECORD
License:
License: Must currently hold a valid license.
Suspensions (CDL Holders Only): No suspension in the last 12-months related to moving violations
Administrative Suspensions are not considered, i.e.: failure to pay, failure to appear, child support
Moving Violations:
A moving violation is any violation of the law committed by the driver of a vehicle while it is in motion and can be found on the application, MVR, Widescreen and PSP. This distinguishes it from other violations such as parking violations, equipment violations, or paperwork violations relating to insurance, registration, inspection, etc.
No more than 2 moving violations in the past year with no more than 3 violations in the past 3 years.
Applicants under 23 years old: cannot have more than one moving violation within the past 12 months. No more than 2 in the past 3 years.
Seatbelt violations: 1 seatbelt ticket resulting as the 4th violation will be accepted within the last 3 years. More than 1 seat belt violation will count as 1 point each
HOV violations: 1 HOV ticket resulting as the 4th violation will be accepted within thelast 3 years. More than 1 HOV violation will count as they appear.
Driving with a suspended license counts as one violation.
No inattentive driving violations in the last 3 years
No negligent driving violations in the last 3 years
No more than 2 reckless or careless driving violations.
No careless driving violations in the last 3 years.
No careless/negligent driving violations in the last 3 years
No reckless driving violations in the last 5 years.
No reckless driving violations reduced to reckless/negligent in 5 years
No leaving the scene of an accident in the last 5 years
Two Point Violations:
Any violation below counts as two points.
Speeding – 15 or more over the posted speed limit
Any unsafe or improper lane change
Following too close
Any Railroad crossing violation
Driving while distracted violations (i.e. cell phone use, texting, laptop, electronic devices, etc.)
U-Turn violation
Accidents:
Major Preventable Accidents (5 Year Hold):
Any accident with transported injuries
Rollover
Major Preventable Accident with Fatality: Applicants with a preventable accidentresulting in a fatality can never be hired.
CDL-Holder: Cannot have more than 3 preventable accidents in a Commercial Motor Vehicle in the past 3 years:

Drug & Alcohol:
Controlled Substances: Any illegal use of a controlled substance within the past 90- 120 days will be disqualified.
Open Containers:
Open container violations for drivers are not allowed within 5 years
Open container violations for passengers are not allowed within 3 years
Drug & Alcohol Testing: Applicant records with previous motor carriers must be verified.
Verify the following:
- No DUI within the past 5 years.
- If 2 DUIs or open containers, the first one must be over 10 years old.
- No more than 2 DUIs in a lifetime.
- No DUI in a Commercial Motor Vehicle.
A failed drug or alcohol screen with past employers where a CDL was required is never eligible for hire.
A refusal will count as a positive test.
Any documented substance abuse treatment program must be over 1 year for both Drug & Alcohol to be eligible
PROBATION/PAROLE
An applicant on formal probation/parole, that is required to report in person to a probation or parole officer, is disqualified until probation/paroleobligation has been filled or he/she can fulfill the reporting obligations via telephone.
If an applicant is on unsupervised probation, they must provide a letter from their probation officer stating the applicant is approved to travel outside of the state.
An applicant on deferred adjudication probation is ineligible until the requirements of the probation has been met.
Warrants/Open Criminal Cases/Fines:
An applicant with a pending warrant, open criminal case or fines will be ineligible until the matters have been resolved.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR CDL HOLDERS
Driving experience will be defined as a driver’s time over the road versus time off the truck/tractor.
Must pass a road evaluation with a score of 90% or higher.
